Blog Badges Can Help Connect Extension Master Gardeners

When we launched the Extension Master Gardener blog in May 2010 it was a beginning.   We knew we wanted to foster development of a space where Extension Master Gardeners could connect, share volunteer experiences, resources,  and learn from each other and other Extension professionals from across forty-nine states and Canada.  With an estimated 94,865 Extension Master Gardener volunteers nationwide  (Source: 2009 Extension Master Gardener survey) there is a lot of potential for discussion – learning from each other much the same way we do at conferences, at lunch time or between breaks. This past month or so, we’ve had a variety of blog posts from different contributors which speak to life as an Extension Master Gardener (at least we are assuming one aspect or another).

EMG Blog Badge

EMG blog badge can be used to connect other Web sites to this blog.

Some partnering universities and local Extension sites have used the Extension Master Gardener blog badge (thanks to University of Florida for coming up with the design) to help local Master Gardeners and the public connect with this national blog, while others have provided a link to the blog in newsletters and website side bars.
